Web Transaction Browser - Pass through out captcha mechanism
Hi, Suggest a workaround for captcha menanism so that scenario does not block on a page with captcha (do not disturb surveillance) Perform the action even though there is a captcha mechanism on the page where action take place. Regards, Stéphane
Increase amount of Widgets possible on Dashboard
Today it is being limited to 24 widgets per dashboard, however, we have a cluster with a number close to 35. I would like to create a dashboard where i can analyze in a macro environment, which instance is consuming more memory. Attachment print screen od another solucion we use and would like to do the same with Site24x7
Show 99 percentile, and also 99.9 percentile values for KPIs in graph
Currently a few graphs on the web app and mobile app show the line for the 95% percentile. This is very useful! but we are missing an even more interesting metric the 99% percentile, and also 99.9. How would it be possible to see those two new lines 99 percentile and 99.9 percentile on graphs? this will really help us understand how fast our services are for most customers and help us improve speed and reliability. Summary Reports with more details (e.g. windows service descriptions)
It would be beneficial if the scheduled reports would include more details. Right now it seems it's a summarization of uptime for all monitors. What I'd like to see is a break down of *ALL* my active monitors and associated down/uptime. For example including the windows services and processes (the service name of each being monitored), or custom plugins, etc
New AWS integration: Amazon API Gateway
Hey folks, We're adding one more cloud service, Amazon API Gateway, to our growing list of supported AWS integrations (16 in total if you're keeping count). You can now monitor API execution metrics, visualize traffic patterns and processing times, track cache performance, and analyze error rates across all API stages within your deployment. You can also discover the addressable resource paths within an API and monitor API execution metrics for all defined methods. For more details, check out our
Tip #40: Understanding Traces - Timestamp
In APM Insight, every transaction's trace details includes the following information: Timestamp Exclusive time taken Total time taken Timestamp give us the timeline of the entire transaction from the second it begins to the second it's completed. Exclusive time taken is the time taken by the individual method call alone, excluding the method calls nested within and tracked by the agent. Total time taken is the combined time taken by the method call along with its subsequent child method calls. So
Feature Request: Schedule Maintenance on sub-group level
Dear, It would be nice if one could schedule maintenance on sub-group level.
limit the persistent notifications based on alert types
Right now persistent notifications are global across account. There are cases where that doesn't really make sense. For example, a disk alert may be set to notify you at 85% but you wouldn't want to be alerted every 1-5 minutes all day every day. Recommend being able to turn off persistent notifications based on the alert type. Thanks.
Better Maintenance Windows
Would be nice to have a maintenance creator window where we can select multiple time spans for outages on a calendar type window at 15 minute intervals. Something like in this screenshot for repeat weekly setting: Doing something like this would remove the tedious work of creating multiple time windows for the same check. Using the outline above I would have had to manually create about 9 windows.
Tip #39: Identify and troubleshoot instance-specific issues
Applications often have multiple instances, and an increase in response time in one instance can cause an overall spike in your application performance. It's easy to identify the transaction that's responsible for the increase in response time. But how do you identify which instance the transaction stemmed from? In such cases, you can easily track transactions and their traces to their respective instances using APM Insight. Every transaction trace is mapped to its instance and can be viewed under
Exclude monitors from Third Party Integration based on tags
It would be nice if we could add monitors to site24x7, but prevent them from sending alerts. On Third Party Integration level one would be able to set tags that would "mute" certain monitors.
Advanced configurations for your AWS integration: Auto-assign thresholds, create monitor groups, reduce alert fatigue, and more.
Numerous customers have been asking for an improved AWS integration, and today we're happy to oblige with our new Advanced configurations. So without further ado, let's get straight into it. No more late night pages for AWS resource termination Alerts are a great way to stay updated on everything that's happening in your AWS cloud environment. However, there are certain alerts that teams don't want to receive, like alerts on informational or non-actionable events. One example is the AWS resource
BurstBalance monitor
Hi guys, Would it be possible to add monitoring for the EBS BurstBalance metric for EC2 instances? Just like CPU Credits. Thanks! Tom
ssl check support for hosts that use client certs
I noticed that if you try to add an SSL certificate monitor on a host that requires client certificates for a connection, the monitor does not function, instead claiming that SSL is not supported by the host—a configuration error. While it's true that the monitor wouldn't be able to connect to such a host without a client certificate, it should still be able to read server certificate information, and thus fulfill the intent of the SSL certificate monitor. Alternatively, Site24x7 could add a feature
Tip #38: Get deeper visibility in your application performance using custom instrumentation
By default, the APM Insight agent captures pre-defined classes of several web components and frameworks. However, in the case of user-defined frameworks, the agent can't identify such classes by default. This is where custom instrumentation comes in handy. With custom instrumentation, you can track the performance of your methods and classes. Include the specified code at the beginning of your class or method, and the agent will start tracking its performance. Using custom instrumentation, you can
REST API Monitor does not show success, failure or status of service
Greetings, I have created a REST monitor to hit a service from my project, The monitor does not show any error, but it does not show any performance time or any status code. Hence I am unable to understand what is the problem. Could you please provide a guidance of when this happens. www.site24x7.com/app/client#/web/RESTAPI/270385000004789029/Summary Thanks & Regards, Sagar
Android app, let me select "Last 3 months" and/ or "Last 6 months" for my server/web monitors (not just "last 30 days"...)
Hello, To really make the most of our metrics and numbers, please add the last 90 days or last 3 months option in the date range Selector in the mobile app.... we need this information to see whether there is an increase over time or whether it is just a temporary spike over the months. Thanks,
Time based checks
Hi All, Currently we are using Nagios to monitor our infrastructure. And with Nagios you have the possibility to define time based checks. Let's say I can create a 8x5 (office times) group. The services (monitor as you want) will then only be monitored in office times. This is a little showstopper for us now :-( Regards, Rodehoed
Moving away from Web Recorder for Real Browser Tests
Was looking around online at tools and saw that Pingdom has a very intuitive way to setup Synthetic checks. This would an awesome move forward for Site24x7 to move away from the Selenium way to setup tests. This would not only make things easier but improve the setup process for customers looking at moving into the Synthetics. See here for details: www.pingdom.com/resources/tutorials/transaction-monitoring
Plugin Modification of Textual Values
Hello, as Text Attributes cannot be used for thresholds, i'm modifying the iDrac_powersupply.py original plugin to return a value instead of text. I did a sequence of if's that upon a string received, I put on a number instead. Nevertheless it is perceived as text. I tried to add Units to it but cannot change its nature. Any help to convert this into numeric would be very appreciated. The objective is to set up alarm based on power supply failure. Thank you very much David #!/usr/bin/env python import
Mute a monitor or alert
Sometimes when a server or monitor is producing alerts and you want it to continue to monitor it. You don't want to suspend or place the monitor in maintenance. It would be nice to have a "mute" for a monitor or a "silence monitor for x minutes" option in the app and web. Thanks Eric
Proposed Feature Development Roadmap
This is a proposed feature development roadmap HIGH PRIORITY FEATURE REQUESTS Server Hardware monitoring – Server hardware such as Dell servers (iDRAC) and HP server (iLO) all have SNMP capabilities to monitor hardware elements such as disk status, Write speeds (IOPS), Fan speeds, NIC status, Pretty much all the information that SNMP will provide. Azure Web App APM monitoring
Hi, We have several Azure Web App deployments and would like to use Site24x7 APM monitoring. Any plans to support Web Apps Extensions like several of your competitors (Newrelic, Stackify) have Ps: Azure VM or Azure Service Deployment is not an option since these are pure Web apps deployments. Can we make this a feature request? Thanks.
Custom reports for plugin monitors
Hi, we've written a PowerShell script and created a custom plugin monitor for the multiple hosts that will retrieve some software versions. But we cannot get version information of all hosts from the plugin reports in the way you can get information via custom reports for normal monitors. We really need something like that: hostname software version hostname1 software version1 Regards
Tip #37: Easily monitor your AJAX calls using real user monitoring (RUM)
In single-page applications (SPAs), most web transactions are UI driven, and every web page consists of multiple AJAX calls. For every state change, the web page is dynamically loaded with the help of asynchronous calls; the response time taken by the asynchronous calls impacts the overall response time of your SPA. This is why it's important to monitor the performance of AJAX calls. With Site24x7 RUM, you can monitor the count, response time, throughput, and HTTP error codes of every AJAX call during
Ability to have Site24x7 monitor whether a .csv file is generated in specific folder, by a certain time
I would like to request a feature which will allow Site24x7 to be used to check for the existence of .csv files (with a specific supplied name or fits in certain naming criteria, preferably) in a specific folders, by a certain time. If the file is not present by configured time, then notification should be sent which will alert this condition being present. This feature would greatly impact the value of Site24x7 to my organization. Thank you!
Mapping Layer 2 with Site24x7
At Site24x7, we know how cumbersome it can be to manually track devices as your network grows. What you need is a network monitoring tool that has an automatic discovery and mapping feature that tracks new devices in your network. With network admins
Bulk Delete Network Devices
I just peformed a network discovery. It found 15 of the devices I want to monitor and another 150 devices (workstations) I don't want to monitor. I've been deleting those one by one but it's taking forever. Is there a bulk delete option for network devices?
chained thresholds and IT automations
Hi folks, has anyone set up a "chained" or "escalating" responses to, let's say, an outage? You can set up multiple automations, but I want them to occur in a waterfall fashion. For example: -- If apache fails (threshold), then start apache service (IT automation) -- -- If that doesn't succeed, then restart the server (IT automation) -- -- -- If that doesn't succeed, then restart AWS EC2 instance (IT automation) Anyone set something like this up? Can you share your setup? Or, where do I start? Thanks!
best practice for monitoring apache/webserver
Hi folks, I noticed that there are a few different ways you can monitor a web server (apache) for downtime. I'm not sure what's the best practice, so I appreciate any feedback. So let's say you want to monitor for Apache for failure, and set an IT automation for "start." For example you can: Set up a Website monitor Set up a Server monitor Set up a Server monitor >> and target the apache process Set up a Server monitor >> and target the apache plugin Is any one method better than another since they
Ability to pull Names instead of only IDs from API
When using the API, the only options to get some information out is by using IDs which is not user-friendly. When exporting data from the GUI the information is populated with the actual names for things and it would be awesome to be able to get those via the API. Some examples are: VIA EXPORT VIA API notification_profile_name notification_profile_id location_profile_name location_profile_id monitor_groups monitor_groups user_group_names user_group_ids We are always running custom reports for our
APM Insight - Export CSV
Hi all, We would like to have this function for all views. At moment there is a Pdf Export, but it's no enough for our reasoning. Best regards, Mirko
[Feature enhancement] Flawlessly import and set up thousands of monitors in minutes.
As you may already know, manually configuring monitors is relatively time-intensive, especially when you’re creating thousands of monitors. Site24x7 offers a novel solution to this problem with its CSV file import feature. Today, we’re delighted to announce that we've made some updates to the template-based import monitor feature to make setting up monitors even simpler. What's changed with the new import feature? Site24x7 lets you export your complete monitor setup in a CSV file. Similarly, the

VMware Datastore Monitoring: Effectively manage storage requirements in virtualized environments
Why are datastores important in a vSphere environment? In a vSphere environment, VMware datastores act as virtual storage for virtual machines (VMs), meaning they need to be monitored for effective resource allocation. What types of datastores does Site24x7 monitor? VMware datastores are logical, virtual containers, which are similar to file systems. Based on the storage types, datastores are backed by one of two file formats—Virtual Machine File Storage (VMFS) or Network File System (NFS). Site24x7
Tip #36: Monitor critical metrics using App Parameters
In general, you can monitor the performance of your application using default parameters like response time, throughput, errors, exceptions, etc. However, to monitor how your users interact with your application or application-specific parameters, you need some additional metrics. Consider a ticket booking application—its performance is monitored using the parameters mentioned above. But to monitor application-specific metrics such as the number of tickets booked in a day, the number of users logging
