Guidance on API Usage
I was hoping the community could point me in the correct direction. I tried to go over as much of the API documentation as I could to answer my own question before I posted this question in the forum. Maybe I'm missing something completely. At this point assume what I'm working against is a Server monitor..... Here's what I'm trying to do. I want to be able to get the last polled performance data for CPU Used Percentage, Memory Used Percentage (I can calculate the percentage if not available in percentage
Check frequency does not equal log frequency
We have a website monitor set to a check frequency of 5 minutes. But in the log report, the entries are 15 minutes apart. It looks like Site24x7 is checking the site every 15 minutes instead of every 5 minutes, as we frequently get alerted by our customers that the site is down, instead of by Site24x7. Any ideas why this would be?
Disable Trouble Alerts for Network/Application Teams?
Sole IT Admin in my shop. Quite new to 24x7 (And loving it!) I have about 4 monitors that also send alerts to Application Team users. (Business operations/dev- they need to know when a website/server is DOWN). However, because I have them enabled for alerts, they also receive alerts for everything. (Diskspace, CPU, RAM, etc). This creates a lot of false positives for them, and they will start ignoring these alerts. They have no need to see these, and they've already requested they be removed from

parsing data from the API using jq
I want to create 80 canned reports, one for each monitoring group. I don't want to do this by hand, that's what shell and the API is for. Is it possible to capture dynamic process and service performance data?
I was wondering if it's possible to setup a server monitor so that it will capture performance data about all running processes and services dynamically? I know I can manually add services and processes that I want to alert against. What I want to be able to do is see what process or service is historically causing a high CPU usage percentage even if the service/process happens to be one that is NOT already added to the monitored services list.
Windows Agent Seems to un-register it self
I have a few windows servers that seem to have an issue with the agent. It appears (from looking at the logs, included below) that maybe an update failed? The result is that the software is still installed but the agent service it self is gone. I can see it down in the task bar but it is not running and there is no way to start it as the service has been removed. Alert Escalations
When adding a notification profile to a monitor, do the selected user groups get notified first, and then if the issue persists past the configured period it gets escalated to the specified group? I am not clear if a notification profile overrides the user alerts groups selected?
Question about resource checks
I'm trying to setup a resource check on some of our server monitors. What I want to do in particular is check that a file exists (alert if it doesn't exist) -- this file would be c:\inetput\wwwroot\loadbalancer.html. I would like also like to check the contents of the file for "OK" (alert if OK is not in file). I have tried a Content Check and that check doesn't see to be affected if the actual file doesn't exist. For example, I renamed the file on the server and the check continues to be displayed
Web Client Auto Refresh
Hi, I notice that Monitors, Status Page and Operations Dashboard pages do not auto refresh. Is this expected behavior? I am running the client in the latest Chrome browser. Regards, Ole Petter

Question about "Auto upgrade agent when new version available"
I have "Auto upgrade agent when new version available" in the admin settings set to Yes. Can someone explain what that actually does? What action is required by me as the admin when a new windows server agent is released?
Threshold and availablity settings hierarchy
I'm in the middle of trying out Site24X7 with a trial account and I had a question about how the Threshold and Availability settings work. Specifically, I'm wondering if there's any hierarchy to which ones take precedence. For example, I have a server monitor ("Server Monitor") that is configured to use a Threshold and Available profile called "Web Server". That threshold profile has "Notify when process is down" set to Down. Now, I can go to that particular server monitor and setup a Windows service
False alerts
In the past week we have been receiving false alerts intermittently on two different locations for our linux servers We had to disable the alerts The message we get is: Agent service node_x could not establish communication with the Server. Please check if there is a problem with the Network Communication. This could also happen if the Agent Service or the host itself is down. Is this a bug as when you check the server and services there are up and running for months It cant be a network issue either

Hello, What I am trying to achieve is retrieving the response body and use a variable to store this token. The goal is to use this token in the following request header for authorization. Monitor asynchronous SOAP web services
I've seen what is documented for the SOAP monitoring service that you offer but I don't see anything documented about asynchronous SOAP web services. The scenario is more complicated than a synchronous webservice requiring another endpoint to be available on site24x7's end which can be monitored for a technical acknowledgment type of request to come back from my site. Are you able to do something like this with your SOAP monitor?
Translation glitch for nl-NL in Site24x7 UI
Hi, I spotted a small but annoying translation glitch in the UI of Site24x7. For our locale, (Dutch - nl-NL) the 'yes-no' sliders are incorrectly translated so they now read 'yes-number'. Portal Integration - Status Pages Layout
Hello, What ever happened to the Status page layouts? We use to have an option to select formatting. Please see attached image. We still have previous reports showing it, but cannot create new reports with it as is no longer an option.

How do you set specific notifications to specific sets of users for specific monitors or monitor groups? I have a couple diff monitor groups and I need to only alert specific sub-sets of users on each group.
Clustered SQL Server Monitoring False Alarms
I have two physical nodes in an SQL cluster, if one server is primary the other one shows as down in the SQL service agent monitoring. Should that not smartly know that the instance is of the same name and bypass or show it as standby in the alert monitor.
Change threshold to allow for Reboots?
I have several servers that I allow to auto-reboot in the middle of the night for updates, etc. Some of them take +/- 10 minutes to reboot. It is NOT always at the same time. During that time, 24x7 throws me an alert every time for every server Is there a way to increase the allowed amount of downtime so that if a server is down for 10 minutes its ok, but if its down for over 15 I want the alert? Is this just changing polling frequency?

How to retrieve a monitorid?
We are automating our agent deploy to AWS instances. Each deploy re-provisions the instances. I'd like to update the monitors group etc when the new instance is provisioned, however this requires the monitorid. At this time I cant find an API that will return the monitorid so I can update it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, K
Web RUM not showing users in Turkey
21% of our user sessions are in Turkey, but the Web-RUM > Geographic tab shows zero users. The ISP tab does show some Turkish ISPs, so presumably data is coming through. Any idea why Turkey shows zero users? Also - sorting this table by "Page Views" sorts it alphabetically, eg: "8" is greater than "765". Thanks.
How do I save a response.
On my site monitor I see "Home Page is in Trouble" ... "The String ""Exception" "SQLException" "Error"" is present in the response" However when I look at the page it looks fine. I look at the page source and it doesn't contain any ot these strings. I try again and again and I never see any of them. So what I really want to do is ask the monitor to save a few of the responses so I can see what is going wrong. So I can see the error that the monitor sees. How can I do this? Jos

Windows Server Agent vs VMWare Discovered Windows Servers
Hey everyone. I am just getting into testing this product and had a question. I will use this primarily to monitor Windows Servers and VMWare. I installed the agent on my windows servers, and I get all of that data. I setup my VCenter as well, and it grabbed all of my VMWare hosts, and it also grabbed the guest Windows Servers. Now in my list, I have each server twice. Once as a Windows Server from the agent, and one as the Windows Server from the VMWare discovery. They seem to have different stats.
