How to configure a device to send SNMP traps?
Site24x7's On-Premise Poller listens to traps from network devices on UDP port 162.
Please follow the below steps to configure your device to send SNMP traps to Site24x7's On-Premise Poller. This can be done on your device either by using a GUI or CLI.
- Ensure that SNMP is enabled.
- Enable traps on your network device as needed.
- Set the trap destination host address as the IP address or the host name of the respective On-Premise Poller.
- Set the trap destination port to be 162.
- Specify a Community String. You can use any value—Site24x7's On-Premise Poller does not validate the community string for incoming traps.
- Save the configuration.
Now, your network device should start sending traps to Site24x7's On-Premise Poller.

Ensure that UDP port 162 is open and not blocked by your network firewall or the On-Premise Poller machine's local firewall. For more information, refer to your firewall documentation or consult your network administrator.
