What is the level of access the installed Windows server monitoring agent has towards the customer's environment
The following list the level of access and permission the Windows server monitoring agent requires in the customer's environment:
- By default, the Windows agent will function only in the System account
- For data collection, the Windows agent uses WMI, Windows Perfmon, PowerShell and VB scripts
- For stopping and starting the Windows services, the agent makes use of Windows API function
- The Windows server monitoring agent installs four services for monitoring your Windows servers
- You would require specific permissions for successful upgrade of the Windows server monitoring agent
- In registry, the agent will add/delete/modify subkeys and values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ManageEngine\Site24x7WindowsAgent
