Auto-discover applications

How does auto-discovery of child applications work?

Applications will be auto-discovered once the Windows or Linux agent is installed in your server.
Auto-discovery will happen only if the option Auto discover applications on the server is set to Yes in the Settings page (Admin > Server Monitor > Settings). This is a global action across the entire account.
Alternative to this is the manual discovery of applications for each server monitor added.

Use Case:
A user has 10 servers and has disabled auto discovery of applications. Now, the user wants to discover applications in only two of the 10 servers being monitored.

Solution:
Please follow the below steps:
  1. In the Site24x7 web client, go to Server > Server Monitors > Servers > click on the desired monitor in which applications have to be auto-discovered.
  2. Click on the hamburger icon beside the display name of the server monitor.
  3. Select Discover Applications.
  4. This will add the child applications that are associated with this server.
Note: Auto discovery will be initiated only when a new server is added. New instances to already existing servers have to be discovered manually.
