Monitoring non-default ports
Author: yoge Earlier we disabled monitoring for websites running in non-default ports like 8080,9090 etc. Now we have enabled monitoring websites running in any ports.
Monitoring websites on custom ports
Author: Gibu Some websites or web applications run on non default http and https ports. We get a few requests to enable monitoring on those ports. We have currently disabled all ports except the default ones due to security reasons. We are working on making it more robust and in the meantime if you need to enable a particular port, we can enable it on request. Happy monitoring !

Monitoring your backend server
Author: yoge Some times your backend server will fail but the web server will be running fine. In this case just monitoring port 80 of your website wont be sufficient. You need to check for presence of non-static keywords in your site that are either generated by your scripts(JSP or ASP) or output from your backend server. In the event of your backend server failure, Site24x7 will alert you for absence of those keywords even if your webserver is up and running.
