[Feature enhancement] Ease your Bulk Action tasks with advanced search filtering
Most organizations today have the added challenge of monitoring and managing their large number of websites, applications, servers, and cloud environments. Site24x7's Bulk action feature has helped such teams save much time while enabling efficient management of their monitoring tasks. If you're someone who monitors a large number of resources, we've some great news for you! We've completed an extensive upgrade of our Bulk Actions Web UI to support advanced search operations. In this post, we will
Meaning of different errors reported by Site24x7
Hi Team, Please provide us the list of errors reported by Site24x7 and their detailed description. For e.g.: we need to understand the meaning of below reasons: The connection has timed out. Service Unavailable. Unable to connect Bad Gateway Host Unavailable
Is it possible to retain the "Log Report" for every poll for one year not just one month?
I found that we can only view the Log report for the last one month. Currently, the retain policy of the data is "RAW data for every poll (based on your configured check frequency) will be stored Only for the last one month". While “Audit Logs” and “Alert Logs” can be shown the data from the day of monitor creation(or one year). Do you consider to show 1 year for “Log Report” and add it to your product roadmap? Retainment of the Log Report only for the last one month seems too short.
Specific service and/or attribute maintenance
In our environment we have a group of servers where we schedule a service to restart daily at a specific time. We would like the ability to put a specific service and/or any monitor attribute into maintenance instead of the entire server. The added functionality would reduce false positives and maintain monitoring statistics. Thanks! Steven
Tip #33: Keeping up to date with the latest product enhancements
In general, it's recommended that you upgrade your APM Insight agents to their latest versions for the best performance. However, upgrading your agents manually or keeping track of new agent releases may be time-consuming. That's why we recommend you to automatically upgrade these agents. By checking the box beside Agent Auto-upgrade, your agents will get updated to the latest version automatically. See Figure 1 below. Figure 1. Basic configuration profiles in Site24x7. Once Agent Auto-upgrade is
Linux, Ubutnu. 24x7agent process, high memory usage.
Hi folks! Looks like the process is taking up over 1.2gb of memory! What’s the next step in finding out why? Anyone else having the same issue? I have plugins apache and mysql added in, as well as log monitoring. I can start stripping those out to see if they have an effect. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! Kris
[Important] Configure DNS to host Status Pages under custom domain
With Site24x7's status pages, you already have a powerful tool in-hand that lets you build customizable public status pages for your online business. Since we wanted to ensure end-to-end security of your hosted custom status pages, we've now made it mandatory to establish ownership over your root domain. From now on, to build a status page under your custom domain, you've to mandatorily update and verify the CNAME and TXT records in your DNS zone file. CNAME mapping of your custom domain By doing
Linux Monitoring
Hi, We are planning to add a large number of Linux servers using a Configuration Template and have a few queries Processes We want to monitor the SSHD process but we need to make sure its the background process, when adding via conf template it seems to select a user specific process. Is there any way we can include an argument? ie sshd /usr/sbin/sshd -D Disk Partition Is it possible to exclude a partition as part of the template? If this is not possible is there an automated way to achieve this
HTML report (not attachment)
Would like to request the old method of getting daily and weekly reports via email with embedded html be allowed again. This was removed some time back and now all reports are attached instead. This requires a separate step to view report instead of being on email. Thank you.
Monitor Apache Solr
Hi, We are using Apache Solr; Java on windows to help to search on our website. Does site24x7 have any way to monitor that? I looked on documentation and help. I am unable to find anything. We were using newrelic before it had a plugin for java. Regards Sheray
Tip #32: Assess whether end-user experience is impacted by internet service providers
A slow website is a big turnoff for customers. But when your website's response time shoots up, should you always blame your website? Occasionally, your end user's experience might be impacted by their internet service provider (ISP). If your website functions normally over particular geographic regions but you still have users complaining about slow response times, then their ISP may be the culprit. In such cases, you can analyze your website response time over various ISPs used by your customers.
Multiple Notification Profiles, multiple Alert Groups, and Alert Schedules
It would be great to have two different notification profiles for a monitor, and the ability to tie those alerts to different alert groups, severity or custom schedules. For my first example, I may have a web server. I would like to receive an email notification if a monitor is unable to get to the site on the first attempt. If there are 2 more (total of 3 polls) and the site is still down, I then would like to receive a page, or notify a different alert group. Another example of this is that from
Cannot create milestone markers for websites
I tried to create a new milestone marker for a monitor but the option is greyed out and I can only add new markers from Admin > Milestones > Mark Milestone but that would be a global milestone. Any ideas or maybe I'm missing something. PD. Also I've noticed that my username in this forum is an ID instead of my user.
Request for NodeJS Plugin
I would be great to have a plugin for NodeJS Thanks
Security Feature Request: Default User Role For New Users Should NOT Be Super Admin
Hello, We create a lot of users in Site24x7. The default User Role for new users is Super Admin. Because of this, we have inadvertently provided users with Super Admin privileges in the past due to this default setting. From a security perspective, the default User Role setting for all new users should probably be something like Alert Contact (No access to web client) rather than Super Admin. This would follow something similar to the principle of least privilege (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principle_of_least_privilege%29.
Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) monitoring
Does anyone know if Site 24x7 can monitor the Microsoft Message Queue? For example monitor mssq and if the queue is about 5000 send an email.
Se puede Monitorear JOB de Base de datos MSSQL
Existe un JOB muy critico y requiero ver la manera de Monitorear , su inicio , su fin y se este finaliza en forma correcta o con error

Tip #31: Why you need to monitor scheduled jobs
Scheduled jobs are basically background transactions that don't concern user. Basic tasks like data collection, data archiving, and alerting are some common examples. These tasks may get frequently executed at regular intervals. Since these tasks take place in the background, it's easier to overlook any issues or errors arising from them. Often you won't know if these transactions are successful or not unless a major issue erupts and bogs down your entire application. This is why monitoring background
Variables in custom plugins
Does Site24x7 handle variables? The most basic example if I deploy the sample script out to 20 servers then look at Plugins from the website they all have the same name "Process Monitor" Should it not populate the hostname in similar fashion to the way the IIS section is handled? Can you pass to the script variables from Site24x7? Thanks Jason

Certificate Transparency Monitoring
Certificate Transparency seems to be picking up more and more. With that, I'm seeing a strong desire to make sure we are monitoring our CT Logs. Would love for CT Log Monitoring to be built into Site24x7 so we can keep it a one-stop shop. Here are some useful links: - What and why CT - www.certificate-transparency.org/ - A tool from Facebook to monitor - developers.facebook.com/tools/ct/
How do i get daily based scheduled summary report values without any graphical representation?
Hello How do i get daily based scheduled summary page report values without any graphical representation load average, cpu utilization, memory utilization, disk utilizations like avg,min and max values. Is there any possibility to get these?
The request requires user authentication despite having credentials
I have setup a new monitoring site for a site that requires an NTLM login. I have entered a legitimate username and password in the form of domain\username but when I view the site the error is: Monitor Group Name has configuration error. Please check the configuration details. The request requires user authentication. How can resolve this?
Tip #30: Monitor dynamic URLs by grouping similar transactions
Your application may have multiple dynamic URLs executing the same operation. For example, viewing a user profile is a single transaction, but the URL varies with respect to the user. In such cases, you can group these URL to effectively monitor the performance of each. In the above example, the same transaction invokes multiple URLs, since each individual checks their own profile. This actually clutters the monitoring environment and can be handled more effectively by grouping them based on their
Enhance Tag Bulk Association
I would like to see the Associate Tags Bulk Action Wizard include the ability to pick from Monitor Groups in the same way that the Modify Threshold Profile Bulk Action Wizard allows this selection. I would also like to see Tags be an option in all of the areas where you can choose from monitors or monitor groups.
Interface Bonding
Hi guy, On a Debian server monitoring. My bonding interfaces do not appear. What should be done ? Br, Simon
Allow for Add/Replace Option in Bulk Tag Association
It would be nice to have a radio button selection for Add or Replace tags in the bulk association wizard. Today the bulk wizard replaces any tags on the monitors that may exist with the ones added from the bulk association wizard. This means that monitors with disparate tags cannot be updated via the wizard. For example, if I have two monitors where one has a tag called "Production" and the other has a tag called "Development" and I use the bulk wizard to try and add a tag called "Windows Servers"
Microsoft DFS replication
We would find an out of the box monitoring solution for Microsoft DFS very helpful. wmic /namespace:\\root\microsoftdfs path dfsrreplicatedfolderinfo get replicationgroupname, replicatedfoldername, state We need to alert on particular states. Im not sure if this would be possible, but it would also be very helpful to produce reports on the bandwidth used and the sync delay
ESXi monitoring - user fails to login
Hi I have a VM ESXi host running VMware 6.5 and I can log in directly to the VM host with the monitoring account so I know the account is ok. However, when I configure site24x7 to monitor the host it fails with the error " Cannot login monitoradmin@oxps-esx-hstmailto:-09.occ.local@10.200.231.100%22. The IP address of the on-site poller is 10.200.231.100 but site24x7 is configured to use the name "monitoradmin@oxps-esx-hstmailto:-09.occ.local@10.200.231.100%22". Why is it adding the @10.200.231.100
Tip #29: Effectively monitor your application performance by configuring the sampling factor
Your application may experience the same transaction repeatedly. Logging in or placing orders in e-commerce applications are just a few such examples. You don't need to monitor repeated transactions like these within the same polling interval (one minute). Here's where the sampling factor comes in handy. The sampling factor helps monitor transactions based on a set frequency. When set to five, one in every five similar transactions is monitored. You can adjust this number based on your requirements.
Threshold Profile Modification Triggers A Recheck
Hello, Recently we changed a Threshold Profile setting to generate a trouble alert if a resource check fails and found that any resource checks that were already in a failed state did not trigger the alert after the threshold modification. It would be nice if a recheck was done on the affected monitors after a threshold modification to trigger an alert if the check is already in a failed state instead of having to wait for the status of the check to change.
UDP Monitorings
I am quite impressed about the feature set of Site24x7, unfortunately UDP testing is missing badly, which is mandatory for us. Are there any plans to add those in the near future?
time stamp difference in Log Report for web Transaction(Browser) monitor.
Hi, Though we configured Check frequency to 5 mins to a Web Transaction Monitor, we could see there is much time stamp difference in the LOG Report collection Time column. Could you please let us know the reason behind this ? Thanks, Sirisha.
Pricing
Hy wane know if we go with classic plan and setup, then in future if we change the plan to Elite there will no change will happen or no issue will take place on site 24*7 setup right?
Ending .NET 2.0 monitoring support
As announced in an earlier post, Site24x7—and by extension, APM Insight—is ending support at the end of July 2018 for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols in our agents, clients, and servers. Implications for monitoring .NET applications Please note that .NET supports TLS 1.2 protocol only beginning with version 4.5, and Microsoft has stopped supporting all prior versions of .NET. That means applications compiled in .NET 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 will no longer be able to communicate with Site24x7 services after
Tip #28: Drill down and debug issues with RUM Snapshots
The RUM Snapshots feature enables you to identify issues when webpage load time exceeds your specified threshold level. Clicking on a particular snapshot displays all the webpages accessed during that particular session, sequentially. For every URL, resources with the maximum response time are displayed under Critical Resources. With detailed information about your webpage resources, you can pinpoint issues to the exact conditions they arose from.
Custom Plugin Monitor Polling Frequency
I wrote a custom plugin to monitor GPU temperature, utilization, and other metrics. By default, it has a 5 min polling interval, but I need a 1 minute polling interval. There are options on the Site24x7 dashboard to change the polling interval for server monitors, but I have not found any options to change the polling interval for custom monitors. Can I please get help finding a solution.
Update Report Settings through API
I am creating a script to configure new MSP customer accounts with our standard default values. One thing I would like to add is the Report Settings. What API calls are available? I searched through the docs, but could not find anything. https://www.site24x7.com/app/client#/admin/report-settings/customize-report
Get smarter with your cloud deployment with full monitoring support for the Elastic Beanstalk service
As you may already know, Elastic Beanstalk lets you deploy and manage web applications without worrying about the administrative overhead of capacity provisioning, load balancing, and scaling. But since deployment automation means less visibility, operation teams can easily lose track of whats happening and can run into any of the following scenarios: The application becomes unavailable and stops responding to requests. Instances begin to run low on system resources. The load balancer has no healthy
