Validate the DNS results

Validate the DNS results

After adding a DNS Server , you can validate the DNS Server results to ensure they are correct.

How it works?
DNS server monitoring is performed such that we do the lookup only in the DNS server configured. We do not do a retry from multiple recursive name servers, but only check the DNS server configured.

Please perform the following steps to validate the DNS results:
  1. Login to your Site24x7 account
  2. Go to Web > select the DNS Server
  3. Click Edit
  4. Specify the Lookup Type , Search Field  as " Target " and enter the Search Value
Note: Mention the search value with a period "." in the end

  5. Save your changes
What if my validation fails?
The following error message shows that the validation has failed:
"The resolved for the example.com domain does not match with the configured value ."

Troubleshooting step:
Verify and enter the correct search value in the right format to avoid the error
