Troubleshooting steps when the directory check does not work for large number of files or folders

Monitor your directories using the Directory file added/deleted resource check. Log in to Site24x7 and go to Admin Server Monitor > Resource Check Profile > Create Resource Check Profile > Directory Checks > File Added/Deleted.

In case the directory check does not work as expected, check if you have .NET 3.5 version installed. If yes and the problem persists, check if there is sufficient memory quota of the WMI provider. To increase the memory quota, follow the steps below:
            1. Go to Start > Run > Type wbemtest.exe
            2. Click Connect on the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Tester.

            3. In the Namespace text box, enter "root" (without quotes) and click Connect.

            4. Click on Enum Instances.

            5. In the Class Info dialog box, under Enter Superclass Name, type "__ProviderHostQuotaConfiguration" (without quotes) and click OK.

            6. A Query Result window will come up. Now double click "__ProviderHostQuotaConfiguration=@".

            7. An Object Editor window will open up.
            8. Under Properties, find and double-click on the property "MemoryPerHost" or any other ones you need to modify.

            9. The default memory quota of the WMI folder is 536870912 (equal to 512 MB). Change the value based on your requirement.

            10. Click Save Property.
            11. Click Save Object in the Object Editor window.
            12. Close the other windows and exit WMI.

This would resolve the issue and ensure the directory check works as configured. If the issue still persists, please drop in a mail to support@site24x7.com
