Interface Threshold Update: Device Status Behaviour Change Effective May 30, 2026
Hi there,
We’d like to inform you about an upcoming update to how interface threshold breaches are handled in Site24x7’s network monitoring. This change will take effect on May 30, 2026.
Current behaviour
When a threshold is breached for interface metrics such as In Traffic, Out Traffic, Errors, or Discards, only the interface status is updated.
This status change does not affect the device status unless you have enabled the Alert when the interface is Down/Trouble option, which is set to No by default.
What’s changing
Starting May 30, 2026:
- Interface threshold breaches will update device status by default.
- The Alert when the interface is Down/Trouble option will be removed, and the interface status will automatically propagate to the device.
How to identify affected devices
You can easily view the devices whose status will be impacted once this change goes live:
- Log in to your Site24x7 account.
- Navigate to Network > Network Interfaces.
- Click Verify Thresholds (next to the NOC icon in the top-right corner) to see the list.
We recommend reviewing your current configurations before May 30, 2026 so your monitoring and alerting workflows continue to meet your requirements.
