I know there are already talks of sub grouping and other group updates. I would like to add this as a feature to have that would greatly increase the functionality of groups.

Would be nice to have groups created that have a type class attached to it and each type class will have the options available to that kind of monitor. For example:

Main Group

• Database Group
• Website Group
• Linux Server Group

Each sub-group will be able to have a template set as the default for the group so when you add a new check inside of that group the options will be auto-added to the new check.

This will also help when doing bulk changes where we need to toggle options for all checks in a group or when moving monitors .

At minimum would be Group options for:

• Check frequency
• Monitoring locations
• User Alert Group
• Actions

In the end there will be two types of templates:

• Group Tempate
• Local Template (what you set in the actual monitor)

where the Local Template will overwrite the Group Template if those options get overwritten.
