Why is Business View Unavailable for my Monitor Group?

Why am I not seeing the Business View option for my monitor group?

If the Business View option is unavailable for your monitor group, check the total number of monitors in the group. Business View is supported only for monitor groups with 200 monitors or fewer. This limit includes monitors that are directly added to the monitor group as well as monitors contained in all of its subgroups.

If the combined monitor count exceeds 200, the Business View option will not be available for that monitor group.
Example:
  1. Parent monitor group: 120 monitors
  2. Subgroup A: 50 monitors
  3. Subgroup B: 40 monitors
  4. Total monitors = 210
Since the total exceeds the supported limit of 200 monitors, Business View is unavailable for this monitor group.

Resolution

If you need a consolidated Business View across multiple monitor groups, consider using Business View widgets in a custom dashboard.
Custom dashboards let you combine multiple Business View widgets into a single dashboard, giving you greater flexibility to organize and visualize your infrastructure based on your operational requirements.

The Business View within a monitor group is designed to provide a focused visualization of the monitors associated with that specific group. For larger environments that span multiple monitor groups or contain a higher number of monitors, custom dashboards offer a more scalable approach.

Why is there a 200 monitor limit?

The 200 monitor limit helps ensure that Business View remains organized, responsive, and easy to interpret.
As the number of monitors and their dependencies grows, the service topology becomes increasingly complex. This can make it more difficult to visualize relationships, identify the root cause of issues, and navigate the topology efficiently.

By limiting Business View to monitor groups with 200 monitors or fewer (including monitors in subgroups), Site24x7 delivers:
  1. Clear and readable service topology
  2. Faster rendering and smoother navigation
  3. Consistent performance
  4. More effective dependency analysis and troubleshooting
For environments that require broader visualization across multiple monitor groups, using Business View widgets in a custom dashboard is the recommended approach.
