How to add my Windows monitor again if deleted from the Site24x7 client?
Use Case:
A user deletes a Windows server monitor from the Site24x7 web client and wants to add it back. This will be difficult because the server monitoring agent uses an unique agent key (MonitoringAgentKey) to interact with Site24x7. Once the monitor is deleted, the agent will not be able to communicate with the user machine and hence cannot re-add the monitor.
Solution:
To reset the monitoring capabilities, please follow the below steps:
- Go to Run and type regedit
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ManageEngine\Site24x7WindowsAgent\Monitoring\MonitoringAgentKey
- Right click on the file and select Modify.
- Modify the key to SITE24X7.
- Similarly, modify the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ManageEngine\Site24x7WindowsAgent\Monitoring\IsFirstStart to TRUE
- Delete all "*_ID.info" files under C:\Program Files (x86)\Site24x7\WinAgent\monitoring\bin\AppBin if present.
- Restart the Site24x7 Windows Agent service.
