Meaning of the trouble message - "Content Length Modified"
This alert indicates that the content length of your monitored website has changed compared to the previous check. Even minor textual changes on your website will be reflected as a trouble alert.
How it works
Under Threshold Configuration, if you have selected the option Notify when website content is modified, Site24x7 will compare the current website content with the previously recorded version. Any change—regardless of size—can generate a trouble alert, labeled Content Length Modified.
Steps to enable content modification alerts
- Log in to the Site24x7 web console.
- Go to Admin > Configuration Profiles > Threshold and Availability > Add Threshold Profile.
- Under Threshold Configuration, enable the following:
- Notify when website content is modified: Select the checkbox to get notified when there is a change or modification in your website content.
- Notify when website content changes in percentage: Enter a value in percentage to get notified when the content in your website is changed beyond the specified value.
- You can configure IT automations for individual threshold configuration.
- You can set a content change threshold percentage to reduce false alerts caused by minor changes.
- Additionally, you can configure specific keywords to monitor under the Content Match tab. Alerts will be triggered if those keywords are added, removed, or altered.
