Troubleshoot DNS server refuses to perform the update error

Troubleshooting tip for the error message "DNS server refuses to perform the update"

It is essential to enter the DNS Host Name while adding a DNS Server. This error occurs if the configured DNS hostname is faulty.

Reason for the error to occur:

This error is caused because we have received "REFUSED" as response from the DNS server. This happens when the name server refuses to perform the specified operation for policy reasons. For example, a name server may not wish to provide the information to the particular requester (monitoring server), or a name server may not wish to perform a particular operation for particular data.

Consider the scenario where the DNS hostname for your domain is ns1.ab.example.com and ns2.ab.example.com. But you have configured to have the name resolution done from the DNS host as "ns1.bc.example.com". Such configuration errors will throw the said error message.

Troubleshooting Tip:
Update the DNS host with the correct name server to eliminate such errors. If the issue still persists, contact support@site24x7.com.
