Troubleshooting steps for agent upgrade failure in Windows server
When a new version is released, the new version of the agent is downloaded, old version of the agent is uninstalled and the new version is installed. Agent upgrade failure is caused possibly due to one or more of the following reasons:
- Network connectivity issues while downloading the new agent
- Required admin permissions or access not given for uninstalling the old version of the agent
- Problems while installing the new version. In this case, if issue continues to persist beyond 6 minutes, an alert is triggered and monitor status is changed to down status
