Display name and host name for server monitors

Showing incorrect display name and host name in the Site24x7 client

Site24x7 collected the host name and the display name using two methodologies:
Although both the names are stored, the host name is presented from the platform module in the Site24x7 webclient.

Use Case:
A server has two display names:
  • staging.cooking.ie present in the platform module in python
  • backup.technologies.co.in present in the socket module in python
The display name and host name for the server will be staging.cooking.ie, even though the actual host name of the server is backup.technologies.co.in. This is because the host name is presented from the platform module in Site24x7 web client.
