What happens to server monitoring when the server does not have inbound internet connectivity?

What happens to the server monitoring agent when the server or host has no inbound network connectivity?

The server monitoring agent requires only an outbound connection for sending the performance and health metrics of the server. 

Inbound connectivity is required for performing monitoring and remediation activities.

These are the actions that require inbound internet connectivity:
  1. Agent upgrade: The upgraded version of the file has to be downloaded.
  2. Log management via Applogs: The Applog agent has to be downloaded.
  3. Source agent download in custom distributions: Agent installation requires Python packages to be downloaded.
  4. IT Automation scripts: Scripts that have to be run for IT Automation actions will be downloaded only when an alert triggers them (for example, down alerts).
