Responsible AI for observability and IT operations

At Site24x7, AI works like a transparent assistant that supports real operational tasks, rather than acting as an unknown, complicated mechanism. Our AI capabilities are designed with security, transparency, and customer control, so teams can confidently apply AI across observability and IT operations.
We use AI where it delivers measurable value. This includes helping teams clearly understand system behavior, reduce manual effort, and respond to issues faster. All of this is achieved without compromising data protection or governance.

How we employ AI responsibly

Our approach to AI is grounded in practical use and strong safeguards. Every AI feature in Site24x7 is designed to operate within clearly defined boundaries, guided by customer intent and enterprise policies.
  1. Designed to assist, not replace
Site24x7's AI helps surface insights, correlate signals, suggest actions, build custom plugins, generate automation scripts, and log patterns while keeping humans in control of decisions and execution.
  2. Secure by design
AI interactions are enabled only through customer-provided credentials. Data is protected in transit, and sensitive fields are masked before being processed.
  3. Clear visibility and control
Customers decide when AI is enabled, which providers are used, and what level of access AI has across monitoring and operational data.
  4. Governed and auditable
AI behavior is monitored, constrained, and evaluated continuously to ensure it operates within approved use cases.

Supported AI providers

Site24x7 supports the following AI providers to give customers flexibility and regional choice.
  1. All regions except China
    1. OpenAI
    2. Azure OpenAI
    3. Anthropic
    4. Google AI Studio
  2. China
    1. DeepSeek

Data shared with AI service providers

When Gen AI features are used, certain monitoring data might be shared with external AI service providers to process the request and generate AI-assisted insights. The data shared might include:
  1. Host name
  2. URL
  3. Monitor name
  4. Logs
  5. Metrics
  6. Alerts
  7. Outage information
  8. Monitor data
  9. Monitor inventory data
  10. Root cause analysis details
Before the data is sent, sensitive identifiers such as monitor IDs, IP addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers are masked to protect user's sensitive information. Only the necessary data required to process the AI request is transmitted to the AI service provider.

Data usage and protection

Site24x7 uses a bring your own key (BYOK) model allowing customers connect their own AI provider keys or use Zoho Key Services default integrations. Site24x7 acts solely as a data processor, facilitating the processing of data by the customer’s chosen AI model operator, and does not function as a data controller.
Depending on user queries, the following data types may be shared securely with the selected AI provider. Sensitive information such as IP addresses and email identifiers is masked.
  1. Account and operational context
Subscription details, operator information, and configured third-party integrations.
  2. Alerts and events
Alerts, event messages, operator comments, and automation templates generated across Site24x7 monitor types.
  3. Metrics and performance data
Infrastructure metrics, plugin data, custom metrics, and historical trends.
  4. Telemetry, logs, and traces
Traces, stack traces, exception logs, network paths, and automation execution logs.
Data is shared only to fulfill explicit user requests and within defined access boundaries.

Customer control over AI features

AI capabilities in Site24x7 are optional and configurable. Users can:
  1. Enable or disable AI features at any time.
  2. Choose the AI provider used for analysis.
  3. Define what data AI can access.
  4. Limit actions AI is allowed to perform.
This ensures AI usage aligns with internal security, compliance, and operational policies.

Model training and data retention

Site24x7 does not retain chat conversations or use customer inputs to train AI models.
Only explicit user feedback about the AI features, such as thumbs-up or thumbs-down responses, will be used to improve AI-driven experiences.
We actively assess and reduce risks associated with LLMs and automated decision systems.
  1. Risk evaluation follows established security and risk management practices as per Indian government framework.
  2. Controls are in place to prevent common AI misuse scenarios such as:
    1. Prompt manipulation
    2. Unintended data exposure
    3. Unauthorized actions
  3. Usage patterns are monitored to ensure AI operates within approved and expected behavior.

Our commitment

Responsible AI is not a one-time feature, it’s an ongoing commitment. As AI capabilities evolve, we continue to strengthen safeguards, expand transparency, and improve controls to ensure Site24x7 customers can use AI with confidence.
AI should make operations simpler, safer, and more effective. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
