Monitoring IPv4 and IPv6 enabled websites

Monitoring IPv4 and IPv6 enabled Internet Facing Resources

Site24x7 allows you to monitor your internet resources over both IPv4 and IPv6 from supported locations worldwide. We offer an extensive network of IPv4- and IPv6-enabled monitoring stations across seven continents.

IPv4-enabled locations can test only IPv4 connectivity. In contrast, IPv6-enabled locations can test both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity of websites. However, if connectivity over IPv6 fails, IPv6 locations will not automatically fall back to IPv4.

How to monitor an IPv4 enabled website resource?
  • Login to Site24x7 account.
  • Create a Website Monitor and configure it as needed.
  • In the monitor configuration form, select IPv4 from the Preferred Internet Protocol drop-down.
  • Choose your preferred monitoring location(s). You must select at least one primary location.
  • Complete the remaining fields and save the monitor.
Once data collection starts, you can monitor the availability and performance of your website over IPv4.
