A network outage usually triggers hundreds of alert messages and calls to multiple personnel. However, some of those notifications will likely be redundant. Without the proper alert configurations, an outage event could quickly burn through all your notification credits. Site24x7 helps you limit the number of alerts by creating dependency relationships between your critical device monitors and the monitors created for resources that exist beyond these devices.
For dependent resources in your monitor level, Site24x7 will suppress all redundant alerts based on the status of your monitor-level dependent resources. During a check, if the monitor is identified as Down, Site24x7 will auto-check and verify the dependent monitor's status first before notifying you.
While this setting is enabled, all alerting modes configured while adding a user–including SMS, voice, mobile push notification, web browser push notification, and alerts via third-party platforms–will be suppressed.
The check frequency of your dependent resource will be tuned down to the lowest value to ensure that the interval between checks is shorter than that of the resources that depend on it.
