Permission to be given in cases where certain metrics of the SharePoint server does not appear in the Site24x7 web client
In cases where metrics of SharePoint related to Web Application and Content Database do not show up in the Site24x7 dashboard, the user might come across one of the following error messages in Installation directory\monitoring\logs\Details\AppsLog.txt:- "The farm is unavailable."
- "Cannot access the local farm. Verify that the local farm is properly configured, currently available, and that you have the appropriate permissions to access the database before trying again."
Troubleshooting steps:
Login to the system as a SharePoint farm administrator and try installing the agent. The user will now be able to view all the metrics of SharePoint.
If the problem persists:
The Windows server monitoring agent's process runs as "SYSTEM". Thus, the user is advised to provide "NTAUTHORITY/SYSTEM" the required privileges to access the SharePoint farm. Now, the user will be able to view all the metrics of SharePoint displayed in the dashboard.
