How can I control and receive the Trouble and Down notifications for my Web Transaction (Browser)?
Site24x7's web transaction (browser) monitor uses a real browser recorder to capture your user interactions and simulate the recorded actions from global locations; thus giving you a global end-user perspective of your
web application's availability and performance. Site24x7 deems the monitor status as
Trouble or
Down based on various defined parameters, such as the ones listed below:
Monitor Status
| Conditions Affecting Monitor Status
|
Trouble
| - When the step URL configured in the web script and URL rendered during data collection is the same, but the elements are not present/visible on the web page.
- Content check failure
|
Down
| |
However, you can modify your real browser monitor's notification profile (from the
Monitor Edit form, after recording the transaction) to decide when to trigger the
DOWN/TROUBLE notifications to your alerting group. Simply follow the steps listed below:
Login to Site24x7 web client Record your interaction and configure your real browser monitor.
Navigate to the
Monitor Edit form
and
access the
Notification Profile section under
the Configuration profile in the monitor form.
You'll be prompted with an Edit Notification Profile screen.
Here you can pick the right notification delay as intended for the Trouble or Down monitors.
You can either choose to get notified soon after the first trouble/down failure detection or after two, three, four or five successive failures.
Once the rules are specified,
save the settings to start getting notified for DOWN/TROUBLE alerts based on these configurations.

The
Trouble Notification Delay can be accessed and set via the
Web Transaction (Browser) Edit form alone. This cannot be accessed and configured from the
Admin > Configuration Profiles > Notification Profiles screen.
