Huawei Cloud monitoring frequently asked questions
Why does my authentication fail even after entering the correct credentials?
Authentication failures are commonly caused by formatting issues while entering the username or password.
- Ensure that the access key ID and secret access key are exactly as they appear in the downloaded CSV file.
- Extra spaces, missing characters, or line breaks are the most common cause of authentication failures.
- Try pasting the values into a plain text editor first to verify them before entering them into Site24x7.
- I forgot to download the credentials CSV file and can no longer see my Secret Access Key. Can I recover it?
No, the key cannot be recovered after the pop-up window is closed. - The Secret Access Key is only displayed, at the time of creation. Once the dialog is closed, it cannot be retrieved from the Huawei IAM console.
- In case you miss to download, you can navigate to the user's Security Settings tab in the IAM console, delete the existing access key, and create a new one.
- Make sure to download and securely store the new credentials CSV file immediately.
- My Access Key exists but authentication is still failing. Could the key be disabled?
Yes. Access keys can be manually deactivated in the Huawei IAM console. - Go to the user's Security Settings tab, locate the access key under the Access Keys section, and check its status.
- If the status shows as Inactive, toggle to Active and retry the connection in Site24x7.
- How many access keys can I create for a single IAM user?
- Huawei IAM allows a maximum of two active access keys per user at a time.
- If you have already reached this limit and need a new key, you must delete one of the existing keys before creating a new one.
- Is it safe to use my primary Huawei Cloud account credentials for Site24x7 monitoring?
No, it is strongly recommended to create a dedicated IAM user with only the minimum required read only permissions for monitoring purposes. Related article
