Custom Reports provide the flexibility to create reports that match your specific monitoring and reporting requirements. The following questions cover key aspects of Custom Reports:
What are Resource Inventory and Monitoring Inventory attributes? Both help refine your report based on how your resources are configured.
Resource Inventory includes details collected directly from the resource, such as Host name, IP address, OS, or other hardware-related information.
Monitoring Inventory includes configuration-related details, such as Profiles, Monitor Groups, Tags, and other monitor settings.
Which category does a Server belong to? Server monitors belong to the Server category, which includes Agentless Servers and Instance monitors.
What does Group Columns by do? Group Columns by organizes report data either by time intervals or by selected attributes, helping you consolidate attributes data across time intervals or consolidate different attribute data in a specific time interval.
What is View by used for? View by controls the data granularity—daily, weekly, or monthly—allowing you to analyze trends over the selected time period.
What is the maximum column limit in a custom report? You can add up to 30 columns in a single custom report.
Can I create a custom report from a predefined report? Yes. Predefined Reports serve as ready-to-use reports that can be customized and saved as new Custom Reports. This allows you to start with a preconfigured report and modify it to meet your requirements. You can generate and then save a predefined report only when you have changed the configurations.
What is the split as sheet option? When you click the split as sheet icon , you can organize grouped report data into separate sheets, making large reports easier to analyze, share, and export. Instead of viewing all grouped data in a single sheet, each group is placed on its own sheet.
How does split as sheet work with Group Rows By?
When you click the split as sheet icon near the Group Rows By option, a separate sheet is created for each row group. For example, if you group by Monitor Type, separate sheets are created for Website Monitors, Server Monitors, Domain Expiry Monitors, and other monitor types.
How does split as sheet work with Group Columns By? When you click the split as sheet icon near the Group Columns By option, a separate sheet is created for each column group. For example, if you group by Time Period, separate sheets are created for Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, and so on. If you group by Attributes, separate sheets are created for metrics such as CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, and Disk Usage.
Can I use split as sheet for both Group Rows By and Group Columns By simultaneously? No. Split as sheet can be applied to either Group Rows By or Group Columns By in a report, but not both at the same time. Applying both combinations can lead to complex overlapping of report structure.
Can you share or export a Predefined Report? Yes. Once you generate the report, the Share As option becomes available.
Email and Export CSV use the time period selected in the report dropdown.
Schedule and Publish use the Reporting Time configured in their respective forms.
What is the Generate option? When you open a report, a preview with a limited set of records is displayed to help you review and customize the report configuration. Once you are satisfied with the settings, click Generate to create and view the complete report with all available data.
How many sheets can be created using the split as sheet option? You can create up to 128 sheets. If the data results in more than 128 unique groups, the first 127 groups are created as individual sheets, and all remaining groups are combined into the 128th sheet.
How many favorite reports can I add? You can mark up to 10 custom reports as favorites.
