Device types supported for network monitoring

Site24x7 network monitoring offers comprehensive support for a wide range of network infrastructure and hardware platforms. This includes SNMP-enabled devices, modern SD-WAN appliances, IP address management, and agentless server monitoring. Several of these monitoring features require the Network Module to be enabled within the On-Premise Poller, while others don't.

Device categories that require Network Module to be enabled

Network infrastructure

IT and utility devices

IP address management (IPAM)

  • IPAM with subnet discovery, IP utilization tracking, and historical mapping

Agentless server monitoring

Cisco ACI

  • Hardware components including APICs, leaf and spine switches

In addition, the following monitors require the Network Module to be enabled:

Custom SNMP support

You can also monitor any device that supports SNMP v1, v2c, or v3.Custom device templatesallow you to collect metrics using OIDs and define alerts based on thresholds.

Vendor-specific monitoring

These networks and devices can be monitored either via SNMP or through REST API-based integrations, depending on the device type and vendor support.

Monitoring these networks or devices via REST API does not require the Network Module. However, if you choose to monitor them via SNMP, the Network Module must be enabled.

Cisco Meraki

  • Switches
  • Wireless devices
  • Security appliances
