Enhancing customer account security with multi-factor authentication for MSPs
MSPs can enhance the security of their customers' accounts by enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA), which generates time-sensitive one-time passwords (OTPs) that refresh every 30 seconds. This provides an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access.
When a customer with the MFA enabled option attempts to log in, they will be prompted with a screen enforcing MFA activation. To proceed, the user must click the Configure button to set up MFA using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) authenticator. Once configured, the customer must enter an MFA TOTP code during login, ensuring enhanced account security.
Steps to configure MFA
- Click the Configure button to begin setting up MFA.
- In the following screen, toggle on MFA mode, and select OTP Authenticator and the required authenticator app.

- Follow the instructions provided by the OTP authenticator app and click the Next button.

- Provide the OTP from your app, and click the Enable MFA button.
Once the OTP authenticator is configured, an OTP will be required each time the user logs in to their account.
Enabling MFA strengthens account security by requiring a time-sensitive OTP for each login, ensuring only authorized users can access the account.
