Alert Delivery Status in Site24x7

Understanding delivery status in alert logs

Alert logs allow the users to know the delivery status of each notification sent through email, SMS, and voice call channels. These statuses indicate whether a notification reached the recipient and, if not, why the delivery was unsuccessful.

Status definitions

Alerts can be sent and delivered through multiple channels.
Email and SMS
The different statuses and the corresponding meaning for email and SMS notifications are given below.
Status
Description
Delivered
Notification was successfully delivered.
Failed
Notification could not be delivered. If the Reason field shows Blocked, it means that the recipient’s handset has explicitly blocked messages from our provider.
Pending
Delivery confirmation is not yet available from the provider.

Voice call
The different statuses and the corresponding meaning for voice call notifications are given below.
Status
Description
Completed
Call was successfully received.
Failed
Call could not be delivered. If the Reason field shows Blocked, it means that the recipient’s handset has explicitly blocked calls from our provider.
Pending
Delivery confirmation is not yet available.
Busy
The recipient was busy at the time of the call.
No Answer
The call was not answered by the recipient.

Why different statuses might appear for the same number

You might notice that the same mobile number appears as Blocked for a DOWN alert and Delivered for an UP alert. This can occur when the number is configured under multiple contacts using different SMS providers. Since each provider maintains its own delivery rules and blocking policies, delivery outcomes can vary even for the same recipient.
