Notifications in the public status page

Sometimes we need to post a notification/message to our customers in our status page.  It wouldn't be related to an outage or maintenance.  Could be something like "Critical bug found in v3.4, upgrade to v3.5 as soon as possible".  Statuspage.io allows for this but overall site24x7 works better for us at the moment so I don't really want to switch.
