Allow regex in "Absolute Path of the Directory" of the Resource Check Profile
Hello You currently allow regex in the File Name for a Resource Check Profile but not the Absolute Path of the Directory field. We run a lot of similar applications across different hosts which all share a similar directory path but not exactly the same
4 common OpenTelemetry challenges and how Site24x7 helps overcome them
OpenTelemetry (OTel) is transforming observability by standardizing and unifying how telemetry data such as metrics, logs, and traces are collected from distributed systems. However, while it unlocks new opportunities for monitoring and troubleshooting,
Identifying and fixing deadlocks in Java
A deadlock occurs when two or more threads are continuously blocked after waiting for the same resources. In other words, Thread A is waiting for a resource held by Thread B, while Thread B is also waiting for a resource held by Thread A. This creates
Site24x7 email notifications and Gmail updates
Gmail has implemented changes that impact the use of gmail.com addresses as senders for third-party services like Site24x7. These changes are scheduled to take effect on February 1, 2024. As a result, Site24x7 will no longer utilize Gmail as the sender

Getting '/bin/sh: 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected' with mysql_monitoring plugin
For whatever reason my SQL monitoring stopped working about a month ago, and I've gone through email support but have had no results, looking to see if someone had the same issue. I've repolled, reinstalled everything, etc Attached below is the contents
Do not re-register agent after re-install a server
From time to time we reinstall our terminalservers (50). After a re-installation the server register in the monitoring portal again. This is a problem because there are two servers in the monitoring with the same name! Is there a workarround (registry key or something else) available to do NOT reregister the agent and map the server to the "old" entry? How does other customers handle this? Regards Patrik
Process SMTPD warnings Linux Webservers
Hi all, Last week I've installed the Site24x7 agent on my 3 Linux webservers running Centos 7 and Plesk. No problems, everything was fine. All of a sudden monitoring went nuts complaining about the SMTPD process failing/not running. This is true because when mail is sent, the process pops up. When Postfix has delivered the mail, the process is stopped. I rather check if a service like Postfix is active instead of a process. Any chance someone can give me some advice regarding the monitoring of services
FTP RTT Monitor issues
I created this ftp monitor with and its erroring with Root Cause Analysis: File "FTP_health_checkftp-10KB.txt" does not exits to download. Which is strange because its joined the foldername and filename without a '/' in the middle. It's definitely authenticating because when I delete that txt file, site24x7 recreates it Also I have another Sftp with the same folder settings and it works perfectly So I'm not sure whats up here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Missing monitors within Status Page
I've created a new Status Page and selected several monitors. However when I view the status page only some of the monitors are displayed. I've tried removing/adding the monitors and also recreating the monitors, however they still don't show up in the Status Page. Can you please offer some advice? Thanks
Zombie Processes - CentOS
About 5 seconds after startup, the Site24x7 agent creates 40+ zombie processes, and then the system takes care of them eventually. This happens sporadically, and seems to correlate to when polls run, and happens until the agent is shut down. This is causing issues with process warning alerts, as the alerts happen repeatedly. Please take a look and let us know if there is a bugfix.
False alerts
In the past week we have been receiving false alerts intermittently on two different locations for our linux servers We had to disable the alerts The message we get is: Agent service node_x could not establish communication with the Server. Please check if there is a problem with the Network Communication. This could also happen if the Agent Service or the host itself is down. Is this a bug as when you check the server and services there are up and running for months It cant be a network issue either
APMInsight monitors going down for few users
We had a problem in one of the Database clusters. Services got affected for customers on that cluster. Time : Aug 26th, 8:16 pm - 8:20 pm (PDT), 8:23 pm - 8:58 pm (PDT). While majority of the customers were unaffected, few APMInsight customers who were on that cluster, would see their agents in down state. Reason : Since the user information was not accessible from the db server, the agents were marked as deleted. We have fixed and handled it in a different way and updated our build too. To get back
Translation glitch for nl-NL in Site24x7 UI
Hi, I spotted a small but annoying translation glitch in the UI of Site24x7. For our locale, (Dutch - nl-NL) the 'yes-no' sliders are incorrectly translated so they now read 'yes-number'. See attached screenshot from the 'monitors-form' page. Current translation (wrong!): Ja - Aant Corrected translation: Ja - Nee Hope you can fix this, Thanks, Otto.
Portal Integration - Status Pages Layout
Hello, What ever happened to the Status page layouts? We use to have an option to select formatting. Please see attached image. We still have previous reports showing it, but cannot create new reports with it as is no longer an option.
Possibility of providing environment variable in apminsight.conf file

Server Load
Hi - first of all - very impressed with Site24x7 I noticed one odd thing in Linux Server reporting - LOAD is listed on a scale of 0-100% It should be a number between 0-1 or 0-10 or 0-100 based on scale.... Currently it renders as a flat line around zero. Thanks!!!! - Lou
Can’t ping IPv6 addresses
I successfully setup a ping monitor with an IPv6 address without getting a warning in the interface. The web form accepted both plain and literal formats (below), but I soon got an email claiming the monitor was misconfigured. Neither formats actually seem to create a working monitor. The web monitor interface at least warned me that IPv6 is unsupported . 2001:db8::dead:e1f [2001:db8::dead:e1f] (This is an example address, my web server’s actual IPv6 address does actually work. Just not with Site24x7.)
IPv6 litteral addresses are unsupported (RFC 2732)
I’m told the address is invalid when I try to use a IPv6 literal address for my web monitor. I want to use a literal address as all my websites’ domains are dual-stack with IPv4 and IPv6, and I want to monitor IPv4 and IPv6 services separately. Here is an example of an IPv6 literal address as supported in all browsers and as standardized in RFC 2732: http:// [2001:db8::dead:e1f]/ Please address this issue as the world has already run out of IPv4 addresses and the whole industry need to get this stuff
SNMP not working
AS subject states SNMP is not working. I have tried both v2 and v3 with v2 have some success. What I mean is that it polls and discovers sometimes and then it always goes down with an unreachable status. The add SNMP credentials page is not reachable after the snmp device is created. The only way to access that page is to go through readding of the device and select "rediscover". Seems like there should be a way to just list all SNMP credentials.
Keyword Match
So we are checking our website from 3 locations (California, Chicago and Washington). We have a few monitors setup and they all report only if there is a failure of all 3 locations. Currently, for some totally random reason, the Chicago location is showing that some of our web servers are down (THEY ARE NOT). So I did a test and removed the Keyword I'm searching for from my website that I have entered for a monitor. Within the monitor it shows Trouble from 2 locations. The issue is that I was never
Missed alert emails on Nov 5th 2015
Dear Site24x7 team. Yesterday evening we were performing some (scheduled) maintenance on our end. Exact time-stamp: between 2015/11/05 15:05 GMT and 2015/11/05 18:50 GMT. For some reason couple of email alerts from Site24x7 didn't make it to our mailboxes, through our MS-Exchange farm! From our logs I can see a possible negotiation issue. The maintenance window was properly monitored, as I can see on the Site24x7 reports, though. We are using Site24x7 for more than a year now and this is the first
How can I delete my account ?
Simple question. I don't use the service anymore. Best regards, BM
Operations: Update on Service Disruption
UPDATE: 2319 pacific time, Nov 11 Services have been near normal in the last 2 days. We are rolling in infrastructure changes to make it better to handle attacks. Frequently asked questions on the attacks answered: 1. I am unable to reliably access Site24x7 / Zoho services this week. What is happening? We’re facing a criminal cyber-attack called a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) aimed at denying access to genuine users of our services. This started on Nov 4, 2015. Updates are available on our
Conflicting On-Premise Pollers
Hi, we have 2 private networks (AWS) with ssh server hosts, which are both configured as IP 10.0.0.1 . There are other servers in the private networks with dedicated services. When I run the On-Premise Poller on one host, it correctly reports in Site24x7 as poller with host name ip-10-0-0-1 and IP 10.0.0.1 and all monitors work fine. If I stop this one and start the poller on the other node, the system shows the same poller as connected but the monitors show down status after a while. It seems the
Operations issue at 16 Oct 2015
Hi, This morning the site24x7 monitoring dashboard greeted us with "We'll be right back". As we have included site24x7 on information radiators across the company, this makes for a pretty bad sight. We have had plans to include site24x7 on screens for our customers to see. How can we make sure that there won't be anything but monitoring screens that we show?
FTP RTT Monitor issues
I'm trying to create an FTP RTT monitor - just wanted it to test uploading and downloading in the root folder. but the form won't let me proceed without putting something in the destination folder: I tried just a "/" and I tried "/root" - but they both failed when the monitor ran with error: Destination folder "/root" does not exits to upload. Which kind of makes sense. Any suggestions on how to get this monitor to work to upload just to the ftp root?
