Include Monitor ID or URL to the standard list of Action parameters
We have actions set up to pass Site24x7 alerts through to a central alert management tool (OpsGenie in our case). The standard Incident parameters give us all the right detail about the alert but don't give us an easy way to get back to the affected monitor in Site24x7, we have to navigate there manually. I'd like to see the Monitor Summary URL passed through with all the other parameters so users can click through (they may have to log in to site24x7 first but that's fine). There is already a Link
Feature Request - SLA for High availability scenarios.
On the definition of SLA we require a way to indicate that servers or services are part of a High availability solution (Or cluster solution). This should affect SLA calculations in the following Way: Site24x7 should consider an outage only if all elements of the High availability solution are not available. Examples: This applies to create SLAs for DNS services (Multiple DNS servers), HA cluster database, etc.
Syslog and Configuration Backup for NMS
Good Afternoon, I'm requesting syslog and configuration backup features for the new NMS product. For syslog, this would be the ability to display network device log messages within the portal. For configuration backup, this would be the ability to have the poller agent back up network device configurations, similar to the Linux program Rancid. This would allow easier manageability for MSP's looking to leverage the NMS product to manage and troubleshoot customer networks. Thank you.
Schedule regular maintenance on every two weeks
Hello, As we do new releases of our product on two weeks cycles we have defined as well a maintenance windows in which we do schedule the deployment of the new versions. So we would like to exclude these maintenance time windows from the availability reporting and also avoid getting alerts. To achieve this we need an option to be able to schedule maintenance on a bi-weekly basis. Currently the only possibility is only either daily or weekly. Can you please provide a feature which is allows us to
PostgreSQL Monitoring
Are there any plans to include monitoring for PostgreSQL?
Control over Alerting
We need to be able to have more control over when alerts are triggered. Should a threshold be reached or exceeded, we should be able to tell the platform not to alert unless it stays that way for a specific time period. This will avoid false positives. We find it so frustrating that such a simple feature has not been implemented leading to our engineers being woken up in the middle of the night for alerts that are normal server behavior.
View Scheduled Maintenance by Monitor or Group
Rather than viewing the calendar for maintenance it would be nice to go to a group or single monitor and view a list of scheduled maintenance for it.
Static Timezones for created items
In attempting to setup weekly/monthly maintenance for our customers, across multiple timezones, I discovered an oddity. When created a maintenance (scheduled report and other items with a timestamp,) I found that the timestamp (start/stop) is only static in its "time" and not in its timezone. Example: My account is set to Central. I create a maintenance for midnight Central. If at any time the account timezone is modified the maintenance is now scheduled for midnight of the new timezone. If the account
Support PHP CLI
I think is common have "cronjob" for PHP and use the PHP without web. In this case the Site24x7 is useless, the Site24x7 not support the PHP CLI. If run a PHP using, for example: php /path/to/file.php This will not be detect by Site24x7!
Availability Dashboard
Currently there are a few dashboard that can be created. Something that we are finding needed and not available (as far as I have looked) is an availability dashboard.. Would be nice to have a dashboard that shows Monitor Name - Status - Availability % With intervals of 1, 5, 15, 30, 60 minute intervals as options. A table would work ... But I think that buttons would look way nicer and allow full page use... Edit: Changed reports to dashboard
Security Monitoring for failed ACL/Firewall Rule
Looking for an inverse monitor that I can point to a particular host/IP and be alerted when a successful connection is made. This will allow me to alert if an ACL/Firewall has failed and the service is open to the internet.
Clearer API Output
Currently when we Activate or Suspend a check via the api we get the following response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Type:application/json;charset=UTF-8
{
"code": 0,
"message": "success",
} It would be nice to be able to get the check name in the response so we know which ones are successful and which ones fail, something like this: HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Type:application/json;charset=UTF-8
{
"code": 0, "name": "Website Name" "message": "success",
}
Web RUM filter; allow exclusion/inclusion of pages/domains
We've several sub-domains accessed from our main site and the way we have to include the RUM client causes some of these sub-domains to be monitored. Some of these domains, or specific pages within the domain, we do not want to monitor. Some or parts of these domains, that we do not want to monitor, are consuming RUM page views. It would be great if we could exclude some of these sub-domains from being monitored by RUM. Having a central storage of exclusions/inclusion would be better than making
Deploy Custom Monitoring Script on Site24x7 probes (no LinuxAgent needed)
A feature I miss and prevents us from migrating some stuff over from alertra.com is the ability to deploy a custom (bash/python/perl) script to the monitoring probes of Site24x7. This would allow us to monitor seldom services like EPP or to implement more complex transactions to get an exhaustive monitoring of a REST-service, node.js-Thingie etc. I don't want to use a LinuxAgent, since this would require me to deploy my own probes in the cloud to get an outside view on things.
Add "Swap Utilization threshold" for Server Monitor
Please add "Swap Utilization Threshold" to the server monitor. (Configuration Profile -> Threshold and Availability -> Server monitor type) The product does a great job charting/graphing swap utilization, but does not let me trigger alarms for high swap utilization. We presently have a production issue where swap utilization is growing (free swap is dropping). We can't figure out how to make site24x7 alert us to this issue at 90% swap utilized, so we kindly ask for this new feature to be considered.
RUM alerts based on Apdex Score
It would be really nice to be able to get an alert if the Apdex score was going below .6 or some editable number.
Alert only when all locations reporting response time above threshold
I'm being inundated with alerts because one or two sites are above a threshold for response time. I'd like to change it so that ALL sites must be over a threshold. I prefer this because if one or two out of eight sites are reaching my site slowly, but all others are just fine, there is likely little I can do, as it is probably caused by circumstances beyond my control. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!
Alert improvement/enhancement
Hi Site24x7, Is it possible to add a dynamic URL's when creating a new monitoring test? The dynamic URL can contain a link to a knowledge base/website. When a test fails an alert email is received. This email will contain a link (Dynamic URL) to the knowledge base/website. So people can quickly navigate to a website where a procedure is written how to solve the alert/problem. Maintenance reoccuring every month
Hello, we have an IT infrastructure maintenance every month on the same Saturday (or weekend). So with the available options I have to enter that maintenance day every month again as the frequency only allows: ( ) Once ( ) Daily ( ) Weekly My questions to Site24x7 is would it be possible to include "Monthly" into the maintenance selection? But I am also interested if other Site24x7 forum users would like to have this option of monthly maintenance available. Could you reply and let us know your opinion?
New Status Page layout
I like the new layout of the status pages however, there are a few things that would make them even better... 1.) Custom logo per page. Some companies have different departments/sub companies and it would be nice to be able to create branding to match the type or checks or business sector they will be representing. 2.) For the Incident History, it would be better to have those in smaller blocks of color with the date and number of issues if there are any: Red = Services were down -> Click to see
Featured request: Deacativate ICMP Ping in RCA reports
Hello team, because of firewall and sequrity reasons our servers does not allow ping request. It would be nice if we could have the possiblity to deactivate the "ping analysis" inside the root clause analysis reports. Problem is if monitor is identified as down, RCA report will be generated and try to get ping information from our servers. This will fail for sequrity reason and will result into "false" values inside the RCA report. The ping analysis will always fail. It would be nice if we could
Pie Charts in Reports.
Hi, We've noticed that since September you no longer include Pie Charts in the reporting. We used to find these very useful for displaying availability of the monitored service. Is there any plans to reintroduce the pie charts or is there a workaround that we could use? Many thanks, Sheldon Jolly Ingenico ePayments.
Monitoring any AWS CloudWatch metric
Hi, today there is monitoring of specific EC2 metrics, specific RDS metrics, and specific S3 metrics. It would be helpful to monitor generic AWS CloudWatch metrics. For example, we're monitoring CloudFront, SNS, Billing, and some user-generated metrics. Thanks! Erez
Total IIS request received in a period of time
Hello, Could you include the option to see the total number of requests received in a period of time. This will help to see the site performance and usability. Regards, Sathish Ravi
Server last reboot time
Hello Team, Could you include a line in a summary page to show server last reboot time and date? Thanks, Sathish Ravi
Ability to associate two different notification profiles with a single monitor
We hope to see the possibility to specify two different notification profiles in one monitor, specifically one for down/trouble alert and one for up alert. This way we can specify different email templates or maybe the ability to specify two different email templates to be executed depending on the alert type. The main function would be different message when the service is down and when the service is up.
Testing Mode
Was thinking about this... There needs to be a non-production status that we can use for adding checks that we do not want to get alerted on as yet. For example, when adding a new check, one wants to verify that things will work properly before making it production or maybe we want to add a check that we need to study the performance so we can properly gauge what thresholds should be. Maybe have a Testing status added instead of Just Active and Suspended. With the Testing status, you can have all
RDS Free Space Alert
Hello, Would it be possible to implement an RDS Free Space alert feature in an RDS Threshold profile? We have situations where total disk space of an RDS instance is depleted and causes the DB to stop responding. Thanks!
Feature Request: Support HTTP/2 monitors
Site 24x7 do not currently support HTTP/2, meaning that the monitors report a slower load time than normal user experience for modern browsers: http://caniuse.com/http2
Domain Monitoring for Reputation
As someone monitoring multiple domains, keeping track of domain reputation is important. I currently manually scan domains and IPs using a couple of tools including: senderbase.org www.mcafee.com/us/threat-center.aspx To have automated daily check would be helpful.
Better AWS CloudWatch Integration
Hi, do you have plans for a better AWS CloudWatch Integration? At this time you import all EC2 and RDS Sources. I want to have a possiblity to define to import only selected based on manual choice or AWS Tag ... I also would like to see other CloudWatch Metrics like ELB (Load Balancer), etc ... Sven
AWS Monitor Issues
We have issues with the AWS Monitor that render it pretty much unusable. - It's all or nothing. We have resources in a given AWS account that we -use- but don't monitor, such as development or QA instances. A way to mark these as 'we don't care' or 'null' would be nice. - Resources are know by their AWS ID only. Great, but we have a lot of bits in there, and people don't _know_ what 'i-1341aabcde' is. They _know_ 'production-web-server'. - Email templates. We have, potentially, over a dozen AWS accounts
Status over Time Thresholding
Would be nice to have a time based threshold option that can be either an individual feature or part of the new anomaly features. Something like: Mem usage is x% for more than x minutes Disk usage spiked more than x% in last x minutes Disk usage remains over threshold for more than x minutes (this will avoid normal spikes from creating alerts)
Add the ability to alert on the number of files in a directory to Directory Checks
This would be incredibly helpful to alert on backed-up queue directories. For example, notify me if there are >1000 files in this directory.
Monitor description field.
It would be really useful if we could have a notes/comments/description field associated to each monitor. Is this something that you are still not considering as a feature? Best, Rafael
Acknowledge issues in bulk
It would be highly beneficial to have a bulk acknowledge feature. This would be useful in instances of multiple site/service outage and you want to suppress notifications. One should be able to bulk acknowledge outages, and acknowledging should suppress notifications for some period of time. This should also take into account escalation rules; I believe that if problems have been acknowledged then the escalation notification should not happen either, or it should be configurable on how escalation
Templates for monitors, sorting, bulk moving between groups, filtering and reporting, private dashboards, auto refresh
Hello, We are using Site24x7 for monitoring of 100+ web urls and a bunch of servers, in total we have 230+ monitors. I'm not sure if someone already asked you, but Site24x7 should have better support for management of high amount of monitors I've being using Zabbix for many years, now we are using Site24x7. Site24x7 is a nice product which has a lot of preconfigured checks and multiple locations, but in comparison to Zabbix (and actually to Nagios) it is missing quite a few important features which
support for
You will have support for cloud services as azure? other databases such as Informix ibm? IBM AS400 platforms? HP operating systems like UNIX? storage monitoring as HP 3PAR? monitoring security platforms as PALO ALTO and FORTINET?
Sort Threshold and Availability Profiles
It be nice if the list of Threshold and Availability Profiles under Admin-->Configuration Profiles-->Threshold and Availability was sorted alphanumerically. It would also be nice when creating a new monitor that the Threshold and Availability drop-down was sorted alphanumerically. Unless I'm missing something, those two areas do not currently appear to be sorted.
On hover, show what metric is being shown in the "Performance" column.
On the "Monitor Status" interface, we have the Monitor Name along with the Performance being shown. The problem is, it isn't overly clear what metric the Performance column is showing for a given metric. My proposal: show the name of the metric being displayed when hovering over the performance value. For example: Hovering over "15%" would show "CPU Usage" in a tooltip.
